‘Los Indious’.
Evening, Yang and his brothers came, gave back the
spectacles’ money,
shir played Machong with them. That black bastard
seems very busybody, ask this ask that, asked him to go to hell.
米 brought two records for me, ‘Your song’ & ‘Put your hand in the
hand’, I admit they are very nice songs.
米 went back to KL, I gave him two issues of 老夫子.
17 Feb 72 (Thur)
Took fifty dollars to open an account in the Post
office saving bank.
Nothing to do, so went to the show ‘Big Boss’ ‘唐山大兄’, Mum queues up, her turns, only three thickets left, but that sales
girl gave the tickets to the hand stretching from next row, Mum feeling very
angry, nearly quarrel with her. Can’t help, so we went to the next theatre
showing the same film, I don’t know what so good the film is, nothing special.
It’s all because of the publicity I think.
Helped grandma to clean the floor. Lim and his friends
came, took them to ‘Maple Leaf coffee House’，
after that, we went for a car ride.
18 Feb 72 (Sun)
Our factory started work today, everyone got a two
dollars Ang Pau.
Intend to buy a hand bag, but walk through all the
shops still can’t find one which suits me.
Ah Tect spend us to the show ‘Anderson Tapes’, very
dull, I fell asleep, although the starring is Sean Connery。
Went to Canning with Ah Tect, Chong brothers, on the
way, went to Sar Ku’s house.
Lots of stores at Canning Garden didn’t open today, so
we went back to Ipoh town’s Malaysia Restaurant, stomach not feeling very well,
so ate a little only.
Went to bed at 11 something.
18 Feb 72 (Fri)
Feeling very tired today, not interested at anything,
hope to reach the time for going back.

20 Feb 72 (Sun)
Tua Ku came, took all my painting’s New Year cards.
Rock’s friend Peter came back from Europe, his hair is
as long as mine, so strange looking. Roger spends him tea at 大成.
FF asked me to go to the show ‘发达之人’，I spend her, Mum spend Rock, Peter, Roger and us fried mee at 大成. Asked Peter about the things in
Europe.
Borrow four story books from Ipoh Library.
FF bought one bag of curry chicken for us as our
dinner. She also helps me to set my hair
after the washing, I ask her to have her dinner here, she agreed.
Rock took me to Dr. Liew for taking the anit-Polio
medicine.
Kong2 went out to dinner with ‘Say Ma’ and family,
grandma was so angry, when Kong2 came back, grandma got a big fire on him, Mum
and I felt scared too. We went to bed early.
21 Feb 72 (Mon)
Today’s Newspaper has a big news the whole world
notice, that is ‘President Nixen visits Peking’, everybody is discussing about
it.
22 Feb 72 (Tue)
Raining, the man at the Shell Station gave us a lift.
I wanted to buy a handbag to match my Middie, Mum went
with me, look through all the shops, but still can’t get one I like, half way stop
at ‘Fairdeal’, so many cute little things, but quite expensive, Mum bought a 2
inch Mickey mouse, cost two dollars, because it’s not nice after we saw all the
things and don’t buy one.
Went home by trishaw.
23 Feb 72 (Wed)
Lim said ‘Lee Rubber’ is looking for some new
trainees, told us to tell our friends who like to apply, Rock’s friend Ah
Choong intend to apply, I promise to get him the form.
The whole street is covered with darkness, because the
street lamps are out. Mum and I went to eat ‘Wan Ton Mee’ at the next street.
Just now, Albert brought his nephew here, very
naughty, but I like him.
24 Feb 72 (Thur)
Mum phoned to Tua Ku, said Lim was simply talking
about that looking for a trainee, this time, how am I going to tell Ah Choong?
Ah Choong came, Mum spend him ‘Siamese Laksa’, not
very nice.
Everybody seems to say I’m growing more beautiful.
I order ‘Jackie’, today 4 issues came, $1.80.
25 Feb 72 (Fri) P
Not feeling well, period.
Went out to shop something alone, bought one
Petticoat, Crown Magazine, Sister Pictorial, 老夫子,
and ‘Shouthall’, used almost 10 dollars.
Next month, our Lab. will start the Parallel Testing,
hope would authorize soon.
26 Feb 72 (Sat)
Cleaned up all the dirty flasks, for next week people
from RRI will come to have a check of our Lab before the parallel Testing.
Intend to change stamps with the man at the Shell
Station， but meet Ah Liam, he gave us a lift back.
Bought some leather, Ah Heng made a bag for me, for
carrying my lunch to Lab, very nice.
27 Feb 72 (Sun)
Went to library, Mum comes along too, stopped at ‘Kong
Heng’, Mum treated us a big meal. We
stayed for such a long time at the Library, seems have a lot of books to read,
Mum said every week she’ll go with us.
28 Feb 72 (Mon)
Today, Loke came to inspect our Lab, he said we are
very hard working, we are so pleased to hear that.
Mum starts to collect all sorts of coins.
29 Feb 72 (Tue)
Read that story book borrow from Ipoh Library’
Mother’s Cry’ (慈母泪), very touching, author is
