16 Mar 72 (Thur)
FF came, took all of us to Canning, I played badminton
with Fish (鱼), Cotton（絮）, and Boy, very interesting
game, didn’t play after a long time, so feeling quite tired.
Drop down Kong2, we went to Ipoh Library, simply
borrow four books, because it’s about time to close, Mum said this are the four
most interesting books I’ve ever borrow, God!
17 Mar 72 (Fri)
Actually nothing to do today, just sitting there the whole day long.
Went to Canning to see Ah Mah, and eat at Canning’s
coffee shop.
Lim said tomorrow we’ve to come, but later he changes
his mind and said give us a day off.
Albert brought my new shirt to me, I wear it today.
18 Mar 72 (Sat)
Promise Boy to take him to the show ‘Na Cha & the
7 devils’ (梅山收七怪), not bad, but a bit childish.
19 Mar 72 (Sun)
Tomorrow is Boy’s birthday, but he celebrates
today. At about two o’clock, we all went
to Sar Ku’s house, took some photos there, we ate chicken rice and so on, I won
1 dollar by playing Jin Ramie.
These few nights I felt stomachache, Mum said it’s all
because of the roundworms inside my stomach, quite scared, so went to buy a
bottle of the ‘Antepar roundworm expeller’ medicine to take.
Albert brings his nephew here, very naughty.
20 Mar 72 (Mon)
Don’t have to go to work, the thing inside my tooth
came out, so I went to the dentist to get mend, cost me three dollars. After that, I walked to old town at ‘Fairdeal’
I
bought a diary, wrapped it very beautifully and also a ‘Cancer star’ keychain,
all are for Mum at tomorrow’s Mother’s
Day, the present is about 10 dollars, I am dead broke now.
Mum spends us to the show ‘Mondo care American style’,
all the terrible things of the United State.
After the show, Albert treats us, we called a plate of
甜酸蟹，乳鸽，纸包鸡等，but I can’t eat much.
21 Mar 72 (Tue)
While I was doing the blending, Ah Liam came to tell
me that there’s a phone call for me, I rush to his office, it’s Mum who phoned
to me, she said my friend wanted to talk to me, and told me to make a guess, at
once I guess it’s The cloud (云云）, she said ‘no’, second
guess I said 悠悠, this time I guess correctly, I am so eager to see her.
When I get home, 悠悠 has
went to Sar Ku’s house, Sar Kim also came and took me there, I’ve my dinner
there.
At eight something, Rocky and his friend Ah Choong
came to fetch us, Mum spend us ‘Malaysia Restaurant’.
We chat till midnight, 悠悠
didn’t change much, became more 斯文。
22 Mar 72 (Wed)
Painted all the windows of our house, very dirty and
untidy, so Mum told me to bring 悠悠 along to our Lab, she
brings some books to read there.
At 12.00, I spend her lunch, she is so greedy, the
mouth non-stop. This morning, we have
our breakfast at market.
I introduced Lim to her, she said he is just like a
‘frog’ so 悠悠 called him ‘Ah Kam’. （阿禽）
At last, reaches five, the time for going home.
FF came, we talked and laughed a lot, I took 悠悠 to the book store, she said if in Singapore, this type of Bk Store can
only be counted as 5th class.
Albert spends us at ‘Lam Kok Restaurant’.
I chat with 悠悠 till very late, Mum said
tomorrow got to work, so better go to bed.
23 Mar 72 (Thur)
Feeling so sleepy today!
FF came, we went to Ipoh Library, 悠悠 chose four books for me, one is ‘变’,
very nice story.
Tonight, we took 悠悠 to Memglembu
to eat the famous 云吞面.
24 Mar 72 (Fri)
I took all the photo album out and let 悠悠 see, we laughed when we saw the photos of our childhood.
Fat took us to old town to eat the ‘糖水’，花生糊is 悠悠’s favourite.
25 Mar 72 (Sat)
At about 8.00, 悠悠 came
back from uncle 亮’s house, E. Ku took us to
eat ‘look look’.
Mum also bought the tickets of ‘Finger of Doom’ (太阴指), horrible firm.
Once again, went to bed late.
26 Mar 72 (Sun)
Roam around in the market, I spend 悠悠油炸云吞，bought some 莲蓬and 扎体to
eat at home.
At noon, E.Ku took us to his house, have our lunch
there.
Went to Sar Ku’s house, all of us start our journey to
the Perak Cave, I have came to this type of cave several times before, not very
enjoying, Walked to the highest top, feeling very exhausted and hungry.
Went to the Siamese temple, everybody makes a future
there by putting 20sen in that machine.
My future is not so good, it is written: ‘this one is not so good, now
your fate is getting gloomy, just as the sky is full of clouds, you must think
over, consult your parents before you do something and then you’ll be very
happy and free from disease, suffering and sadness. If you’ve the debtors, they are faithful to
you and return your money. About your bosom friend, better you take your mind
back, otherwise you may be sorrowful.’
13 of us went to eat 薄饼&
红豆冰. Pass by the Turf club then went
home.
27 Mar 72 (Mon)
See Lay and Lim’s brother also got grade one in their
MCE. See Lay will leave the job on the 5th
of next month.
Took makan at Malaysia Restaurant, Ah Choong came
along too.
28 Mar 72 (Tue)
Today got no sample, just sitting in the Lab whole day
through, 3 o’clock, we went out to have our tea. Lim said tomorrow we don’t have to come.
悠悠 used the playing cards to see our fortune, my fate is always so blue,
sad!
Mum spends us to the ‘look look’, 悠悠 and I walked home, we bought 豆干，肉丝等to enjoy at home, my stomach
is so full.
29 Mar 72 (Wed)
Went to market, used 3.00$.
Shir entered ‘Star of Penang’ had published out. When I bought the ‘Star’, I gave the boy
50sen, he didn’t give me the change and said I’ve only given him 20sen, after
the arguement, I said never mind, sorry and went home, now I remember I’ve given
the boy 20sen only, expect him to give me the change, how ‘malu’ am I!
Bought some beautiful painting stamps. Spend 悠悠susu
and mutapat, also the picture ‘The Unsatisfied’, very lousy picture. I’ve used 8 dollars today.
Received Quen Wah’s letter.
悠悠 feels sick, Mum and Kong2 took her to the doctor.
Everybody sleep early tonight.
30 Mar 72 (Thur)
悠悠 rests a few days in Sar Ku’s house.
Rock said the film ‘French Connection’ is very good,
so we went to see, I slept in the theatre for the first half, so dull.
After the show, we went to fetch Kong2, but he’d went
home already, we ate at ‘Fair Park’, I didn’t take much, for I am so full.
31 Mar 72 (Fri)
Today have no samples but we got to go to work, that
bastard told us to prepare this prepare that, I’m sick of it.
Lots of people came, Sar Ku, 细妈，and
so on….
