1 June 72 (Thur)
From today onwards no work for us again.
Today the Municipality Ipoh will celebrate its 10th
Anniversary， Ipoh goes gay tonight with procession too. I watched the procession passes by at Yee
Ku’s office, there’re lots of people crowded on the street.
2 June 72 (Fri)
Ah Mah said that she’s going to die, we were grief to
hear that, made me cried out. I know it
was all because of the nurse, last night, ah Mah pressed the bell, the nurse
came in and scolded her, this morning, Kong2 was late to see her, so she felt
hopeless and pathetic, that all sorts of silly things came out from her mouth.
Rocky phoned to Tommy told him to come back
immediately.
Rock spent us to the Diamond Restaurant, then together
with Linda we went to the ‘Blue Diamond’, late till 1 am then we got home.
3 June 72 (Sat)
Tua Yee, 姨丈 together with Ocean reached
Ipoh this morning, I lead them to the hospital to see Ah Mah, she’s very glad.
I stayed in hospital to accompany Ah Mah for the whole
day.
At lunch, Mum bought me a bag of 叉烧饭.
Once again, Rock spent Diamond Restaurant.
4 June 72 (Sun)
Took Tommy and his girl friend to ‘Taman Seenivasagam’
to take photo, have our lunch in the ‘Malaysia Restaurant’.
Shir came along with us to the hospital to see Ah
Mah. I spend her 鸡丁饭, she accompany me in the evening when everybody was in the hospital.
5 June 71 (Mon)
Borrow 20 dollars from Mum in order to take my
spectacle, Mum gave me the frame I went to fix the glass.
Injection for the second time, after injection I felt
drowsy for the whole day.
丝姨 and Chee Yee of Seremban came to see Ah Mah.
Bought three packets of chocolate for Ocean.
Dr. said Ah Mah could get home by tomorrow morning.
She always said that something inside her nose made
her very hard in breathing. Kong2 called
a specialist Kumar to check for her, the Dr. took the thing out from her nose,
in the evening her sickness became complication, the poisonous pus from her
nose ran into the lung, her lung is very weak at that time, so it’s very
dangerous, we didn’t sleep much at night, we are so nervous to hear the
telephone ring.
6 June 72 (Tue)
Ah Mah told Ah 米 to
get back on Wednesday and told 姨丈 on the 7th, it
was the same day. But they’re busy at
their work so they get back now.
The sisters of the Hospital don’t allow us to get in,
not to disturb the patient they said.
7 June 71 (Wed)
丝姨 wanted me to take her to shopping, I’m very anxious to go to the
hospital to see Ah Mah.
笑影 came, I took her to the hospital, it is no use for us to stay outside,
so we get home.
At three O’clock Albert came to fetch us there, we saw
the sisters running here and there, we knew Ah Mah’s sickness turned worse, the
sister told Kong2 to get in, at the door side, I saw the green spot of the
heart machine jumping up and down so inconstantly， not
very long, the green spot stop, my hands are cold at that minute, the sister
came out and said ‘very sorry, she’s dying’, we cried out at the same time.
The body was carried to the 番禺会馆，we
stayed for the whole night there.
Shir’s mum gave 10$ 白金.
愿祖母在天之灵，安息吧！
8 June 72 (Thur)
Ah Mah passed away very peacefully without any suffer,
she had rest in peace forever, she gave me her diary.
The photo placed in front of the coffin looks so nice,
two sentences in Chinese written‘孝道有亏终身抱憾，思亲难见半世含哀’，very
meaningful indeed.
At night lots and lots of friends and relatives came,
8 tables full of peoples I serve them drinks, Ah 淇 is
the cashier to collect the money. Ah Kam
and some staff came, they gave 25$ 白金, FF and friends gave
flowers.
Newspaper also printed out, but without Mum’s name in
it, she is very sad and angry, she cried, I also cried out, Mum said they 欺负us when Ah Mah was not here. 幸亏不是靠她们而活！
9 June 72 (Fri)
This morning at 1am I came back to take some rest,
sleep till 7am.
姨丈 and 悠, Island also came back from S’pore.
At 10 the funeral started, the dead body was going to
cremate at the Sam Poh Tung crematorium, at this moment, I burst into tears.
It’s all just like a dream, we came back and couldn’t
see Ah Mah again, how sad!
10 June 71 (Sat)
淇 stays here last night, went to market with Tua Yee and 淇 this morning, bought a lot of prawns and fishes to cook for Kong2.
Kong2 cried a lot when he saw everything Ah Mah left
behind.
Period pain, sleep for the whole day.
11 June 72 (Sun)
Everybody gathers here, at 10, started to go to Sam
Poh Tung for collecting Ah Mah’s bones.
I just couldn’t believe my eyes when they open the
door and saw everything had turn to ashes.
We picked up the bones and put into a round container, straight away to
the Siamese Temple. The ashes left
behind we threw it at the Kinta River near St. John， let
it flown to wherever it likes, Tua Yee took some to throw it into the sea in S’pore.
12 June 72 (Mon)
姨丈 went back, Tua Yee and Ocean left behind in order to take care of
Kong2.
Ah Mah’s death had a lot of predicts, Rocky a few
months ago has dreamed that Ah Mah had passed away, how terrible.
13 June 72 (Tue)
Spend Tua Yee Diamond Restaurant’s 瓦煲牛腩.
At night we ate at 华南.
Seems not interested at anything.
14 June 72 (Wed)
端午节, Long Choo’s wife gave each of us a 粽子，FF
and Shir also gave us some.
Sar Ku and Yee Ku bought some ‘makan’ for Tua Yee
every night.
15 June 72 (Thur)
Injection for preventing ‘Colera’.
Bored, bored, bored surrounded me, not interested at
anything.
Read Ah Mah’s diary, very touching.
