Didn’t touch the bonus, just return the whole envelope
to Francis.
Mr. Goon invited us to his house on New Year’s
night.
Asked Pair2 to go and asked Mr. Liew how is Shir’s job
in our Company, Pair2 said maybe Mr. Oh likes to take her. Later Mr. Liew said to me that he got a good
news for me, that’s Shir is employed by our Company, confirmed already. After work rush to Shir’s place and told her
so, she’s also very glad.
Irene came.
My new trousers has made already, quite suit.
2 February 73 (Fri)
New Year eve, so we all work half day, Shir promise to
come to my office, but she didn’t turn up, I asked Mr. Eng to employ her as an
A/C clerk as Chow Kee will be going to S’pore, Mr. Eng said asked her to come
and see me, she missed a good chance by didn’t turn up.
Rocky & Ah Choong came to my office, we went to
have our lunch at the Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Played card, loss 5$.
3 February 73 (Sat)
Chinese New Year, don’t have new dress to wear.
The whole day is so warm and dull.
At 7.00pm Mrs. Wong came and fetch me to Mr. Goon’s
house and have a ‘small makan’.
I wear my new crochet skirt, quite nice I
suppose.
Got a lot of food to eat, and were very delicious too,
Mrs. Goon is a very kind lady, after the dinner, we walked around the house,
the house is very nice and special, with a garden at the upstairs, Mr. Goon
said it costs him 100 over thousand, they suggested to play cards, I didn’t
bring money, so I opened Mrs. Goon’s Ang Paw and play, all the bosses do the
chongkar, I won 6$, it was late before we went back.
4 February 73 (Sun)
Wore my new trousers and smock, new big heel’s shoes
waiting for Irene to come and fetch me to pay a visit to bosses’ house. At 11.00 am to Mr. Y’s place at Thomson Road,
all our colleagues were there already, ate satay, curry chicken, beef, mee and
a lots, they played cards, I didn’t join in, for I was very warm, follow Mr.
Wong to Mr. Loke’s place, drank Whiskey, Brandy, wine all mix together, felt
uncomfortable, went home wanted to sleep, met Liew & Chong, spend me &
Shir to the newly opened Coffee House ‘La trix’, 4 o’clock back home.
Sleep till almost 7.00 pm Irene came again, to Mr. Kok’s
house, after eating, dare not stay any longer, cause the bosses wanted to drink
with us, we afraid we might drank.
5 February 73 (Mon)
Playing Jin Ramie with 淇
& so on pass the whole evening.
Went to bed at 9.00 something, so tired.
6 February 73 (Tue)
Poor Toto is not feeling well, took him to Dr. Haiwan,
after drinking medicine & sleep, getting well already.
Actually, we wanted to go to the show, but the Poker
player is still playing, can’t go.
7 February 73 (wed)
To the show ‘快活林’.
Today a new girl came to work in our office, so I
asked Mr. Liew how about my friend, he said I can call her to come and work
tomorrow, so I rush to Shir’s house after work and told her everything.
Ate something at Canning, bring Toto along too, ate all
sorts of hot food, very uncomfortable.
June & Mrs. Soon each gave me a Ang Paw.
8 February 73 (Thur)
Went to work together with Shir, this is her first day
working in our office.
Lunch time, Rocky and friend took me, Shir and Chang
out to eat, at the Lee Brothers Restaurant, ate till two something, rushed back
to office.
Mr. Liew asked Shir to choose whether she likes to
become the secretary of Ipoh Garden or A/C clerk of Mudajaya, she was quite
doubtful, I asked her to think it carefully.
To Kamy and buy Mum’s sanders, 6.90$.
9 February 73 (Fri)
Mr. Chin of Wan Sum invited all of us to the Garden
Party to night, not feel like going.
Irene fetches me up at 7.00 pm. Ate
all those same sorts of food as before, that drunkard Christine poured the
whole glass of wine onto my dress, damn with her. Irene, Ho, June, Woo, Lee, Francis, Judy play
‘Loto’ at Ipoh Turf Club till 10.30 pm after the dinner, our table won 200$
over dollars. Supper at Lian Seng,
crabs, back home 12.30 am already.
I got an 20$ increment from this month onward, Mr.
Liew asked whether I like to learn how to work the posting machine or remain
the same work as I am now, I prefer my work cause learn more this way.
Julie Ho is going to join our Co.
10 February 73 (Sat)
Half day, went to the show ‘The crazy boys of the
games’ with Mum, Boy and Shir, the whole show is crazy! I spend Shir.
Get the photo we took on Chinese New Year, not very
nice, costs me 2.80$, bought a pair of house wear slippers 4.00$, with small
flowers, quite nice.
Went to bed early, but it was so warm that I can’t
even sleep well.
11 February 73 (Sun)
Period came one week earlier this month. Stomach is very uncomfortable.
Returned all the thing to Shir, I stayed there and
chat with her till about 4.00 pm, she intend to join Mudajaya as an A/C clerk,
but don’t even know got vacancy or not, hope got.
12 February 73 (Mon)
Mr. Liew said if I got intermediate book keeping cert.
I mean advance then my salary’ll increase to 200$ straight away. Sign up my inter exam at Yoke Chee together
with Shir, costs me 7$.
Mr. Liew asked Shir to take over Julie’s place as an
A/C clerk of MED.
13 February 73 (Tue)
Haven’t finished my book keeping home work, to Trade
Fair with Mum, Rock & Teck, nothing more to see, Mum bought all sorts of those
Taiwan biscuits & a big basket from the blind.
That day went back without the purse in my handbag, so
no money to buy the bus tickets, borrow 5￠ from the man sat beside me, so malu, I promise to return to him when I
met him some other times. The shamest
day in my life.
14 February 73 (Wed)
Shir is transferred to Wan Sam for two weeks just to
replace the girls who has gone to KL for training.
15 February 73 (Thur)
Mr. Kok our director asked Mrs. Wong what
qualification I have and how about my work, Mrs. Wong told him everything and
said I can work well. But that idiot
June go and tell Mr. Kok that I am very playful, she often get jealous on other
people, I hate her from the bottom of my heart.
Miss Tan got an increment of 60$, she got form Six
statement, Miss Wong 40$.
