Doing book-keeping can’t even get the balance.
Received Clarence’s letter. Not free to reply yet.
17 February 73 (Sat)
Tan asked me to see one letter just received, it was
sent by Mr. Lee of Port Dickson, he said I didn’t cut the A/C Payee on the
cheques & was sent by ordinary mail, so anyone get the cheques can go to
cash straight away, cos’ the CH Pernas Const. Joint Venture cheques was signed
by two partners, one from CH of Ipoh & one Pernas of KL, the cheques were
sent to P. Dickson after signing. The
letter said the Employee writing this cheques is very careless and don’t even
have a simple standard of writing cheques, Photostat the cheques also, I am so
worried & scared for the whole day.
Help them to type the creditors analysis, everyone
also praise that I type so nice and tidy.
Borrow exercise book from Shir, she also not yet
finish, but at last I got the balance already, Mum said go to Kong2’s place,
don’t work so hard, I would blind when I am old. My eyes also very painful. Kong2 won the ‘horse race’ gave me 5$.
18 February 73 (Sun)
Worried about tomorrow when Mr. Kok comes back from
out-station.
Say Kor’s （小姑）daughter full moon dinner at
‘Lee How Fook’, all of us went to have a chew there.
Gave back the exercise book to Shir, she spent me ‘Wai
Kee’ opposite.
Toto became more & more cute nowadays, so naughty,
everyone likes him so much.
19 February 73 (Mon)
Paid my school fees half a month 7$, but the fellow said
got to pay 3$ more for admission fees, wow! No money already, didn’t teach new
lessons tonight.
Shir became very fierce now, scold me also when asked
her to come to my house.
20 February 73 (Tue)
Chow Kee gone to S’pore already, so I gonna take over
his work, so many things to do, everything also half done, the new A/C clerk’ll
come on March, really suffer this few days, today nearly scolded by Mr. Goon.
Met MC twice at our office, dare not smile at him,
malu only if the colleagues saw me smiling at such an ugly fellow.
21 February 73 (Wed)
Got so many works to do today, got to do Chow Kee’s work
and work for myself, none stop one man!
Lunch hour, Pair2 gave me her nail polish and polish
for me, dark red in colour, very nice and up to date colour, my hands became
fairer on this colour.
After work to have a window shopping at the Melanie
Boutique, with Pair2, saw one pinafore quite nice & cheap, so borrow 12$
from Pair2 & buy it, navy blue in colour, also buy a pair of ear rings,
1.50$, dress 12$. Went back so tired
still have to go to class, lucky don’t have exercise to do.
23 February 73 (Fri)
Made my hair in the bun style, wore my new ear-rings,
wore middie, like a mature lady, they said I was entirely different in this
hair style, but Mrs. Soon & Cheng said I look like a pros. I think they were jealous about me. Hate the gossipers of our office.
24 February 73 (Sat)
To shopping with Irene, ate curry mee as lunch, after
that she came to my house and borrow some records from me.
Can’t do the book-keeping, so decided to go to Shir’s
house tomorrow and discuss about it.
25 February 73 (Sun)
In the evening to Shir’s place, both of us also can’t
do the exercise, at this hour, Shir’s friend Fee Choong came, she thought us,
she is quite friendly.
Wong Meng came, Shir & I went to Maxim and have a
drink with him, he said he came down to Ipoh because his sister is in
hospital. I ate fresh milk and
sandwiches.
26 February 73 (Mon)
Have the Chow Chew porridge with Mum as our
dinner. Just look around at the book
store, Mum got not enough money to pay for the things she bought. So after the class, bring money to Far East
and get the things back.
27 February 73 (Tue)
The powder ‘Pond’s Dream Flower’ which I am using now
contain the poisonous Haxeclorophene, so I went to buy the other brand Helen
Curtis Tender Touch, quite sweet smell, costs me $2.20.
That day received the letter and post cards of Sabah
from Chung Phe, the staff of our office, all teasing me, saying Chung Phe can
only remember me, he has forgotten the works they told him to do so. Reply to his letter tonight.
28 February 73 (Wed)
After the class, met Ah Choong, he gave us a treat at
La’trix, I order strawberry milk shake & Roti Babi, very nice to eat.
J Soon today phoned me, he asked me to find him an A/C
clerk. Coincident that Ah Choong wanted
to find another job, so I recommend him to go tomorrow.
I like to make joke while I was working, they always
said wanted to send me to ‘Rambutan’ – 神经院.
